Unfair Dismissal
Although we all have ideas about what is ‘unfair’, when it comes to ‘unfair dismissal’ there are rules, lots of rules, to define what is a ‘fair’ dismissal. It pays to get advice in the majority of cases.
Although generally, you must have been employed for at least 2 years before you can make an unfair dismissal claim, there are numerous exceptions to that 2-year rule.
Compensation in an ordinary case is usually limited to a maximum of a year’s pay.
However, in some cases, there is no upper limit for compensation.
We can explain to you whether your dismissal appears unfair and also provide a good estimate of the potential value of a claim if it is. You can then make an informed decision.
