Macauley joined the Askews team in October 2020. Prior to joining Askews permanently, Macauley took part in some work experience at the firm, working in the Private Client department. After the conclusion of his work experience, Macauley secured a position within another regional firm covering various aspects of Private Client including Wills, Lasting Powers of Attorney and Probate applications.
Prior to commencing his legal career, Macauley studied Law at Teesside University, graduating with a First-Class Honours in 2018. During his final year at the university, Macauley was awarded the Jacksons Law Prize for his outstanding performance during his end of year examinations. After completing his undergraduate degree, Macauley then completed the Legal Practice Course and gained a Master of Law at the University of Sunderland graduating in 2019. Throughout his time at Sunderland University, Macauley also took part in the Sunderland Student Law Clinic, providing free legal advice to clients.
