Legal Jobs in Middlesbrough: New Conveyancing Business Administrator
2 Minute Read
The Role
We seek to appoint a new business administrator to our residential conveyancing team. This role sits at the front end of the conveyancing process, converting new enquiries into instructed cases and keeping them moving in the crucial early stages. We’re looking for someone with real new business instinct – the kind of person who’s used to picking up the phone, building rapport quickly, and getting a deal from first contact to a firm commitment. If you’ve worked in estate agency, property sales, or another sales-driven environment, the skills you’ve already built are exactly what this role needs.
Key responsibilities:
- Handling incoming conveyancing enquiries promptly and converting them into new instructions
- Providing quotes, explaining our service, and proactively following up leads to secure business
- Building relationships with introducers such as estate agents, mortgage brokers, and referral partners to generate a steady flow of new work
- Opening and setting up new conveyancing files, including ID and AML checks
- Chasing outstanding information from clients and third parties to keep files progressing at the critical early stage
- Liaising confidently with clients, estate agents, mortgage lenders, and other solicitors
- Diary and case management system upkeep, ensuring leads and new files are tracked and nothing is missed
- Supporting fee earners with general administrative tasks once a case is up and running
About You
We’re particularly keen to hear from candidates with a background in estate agency, property sales, or another target-driven sales role — the skills transfer directly:
- Confident communicator, comfortable converting enquiries
- Proven experience building rapport quickly with clients and referral contacts
- Resilient and proactive, comfortable chasing leads and following up without being pushy
- Well organised, with a good eye for detail when handling documentation and compliance checks
- Able to manage a busy pipeline and prioritise effectively
- Good IT skills
- A team player with a positive, can-do attitude
What We Offer
- Competitive salary, dependent on experience
- Company sick pay and paid compassionate leave
- 25 days holiday, plus public holidays, plus additional long service holidays
- Supportive, friendly team environment
- Genuine opportunities for development and progression within the firm
- Staff discounts on legal services
- Pension scheme
- Retirement gifts
- Annual, fully inclusive staff party
